You have been studying what makes a quality photograph. Now it's time to further explore photographs/photographers that have made a difference and been recognized for their outstanding contribution to the field of photojournalism.
The Pulitzer Prize is an award for achievements in newspaper and online journalism, literature, and musical compositions in the United States. It's a highly prestigious award that many photographers seek to win.
In order to learn more about some of the past winners, each of you will research a Pulitzer Prize winning photo and give a presentation to the class. PRESENTATION CONTENT
- 3 minute digital presentation (use Powerpoint or Prezi)
- General information about photo: title, where it was published, photographer, etc.
- Story behind the photo...Why is it important? Why was it taken? What is it documenting?
- Analysis of photo...What qualities make it an award-winning photo (emotion, capturing a moment, etc.)?
- Technical analysis of photo...What specific compositional guidelines (lighting, rule of thirds, angles, focal point, balance, etc.) are being used?
