FINAL PROJECT: "Best of" Summer Excellence Institute Experience
Your final project will be a collection of four photos that you feel best represent your summer 2015 experience and what you learned from the digital photography class. The collection will consist of the best photos you've taken over the past five weeks of class. The selected photos should showcase your ability to "see" through the camera, recognize quality photographic compositions, and alter photos correctly in Photoshop. There should also be a variety of subject matter in your photos (you can not simply select four selfies). You may revisit photos used for a previous project or work on new material. Either way, the photos need to be of correct resolution (see below) and of the highest compositional quality.
The final four photos will be posted to the blog and printed for display. The blog post must also contain a two to three paragraph well-written summation of what you learned from the digital photography class and how the chosen photos are a representation of that learning.
FILE RESOLUTION
When prepping photos for printing, you need to adjust the resolution to be a minimum of 200 ppi (300 ppi is preferred). The goal is to save your images to 4x6 or 5x7 images. Also make sure exposure and photo quality are at their best before printing. Remember that some photos look better in black and white, so be sure to explore that option as well.
Keep Photoshop (.psd) files for printing and a .jpg version for posting to the blog.
DUE DATE
Final printing will begin in class on Monday, July 13 and end Wednesday, July 15. The final blog post is due by end of class (2:55 pm) on Wednesday, July 15.
