Eli Last Project

This is one of my favorite summer photos because I like how the black and white make the image more complicated. The angle of the photo and the way the camera was tilted  is  interesting because it slightly off of the rule of thirds. I also like the way the color made the pool balls the same two colors.

I like this photo because it shows the intensity and focus she has. I also liked the lesson about action photos which was fun.The angle makes it seem like she is going to shoo the ball at the camera. Plus the black and white makes the photo more serious even though it wasn't.

I like this photo because learned how to put myself and other things into different pictures with photoshop. I got to look like a zombie and put myself into the photo which I really liked. I had fun with this assingment even though it was pretty confusing.

Final

I choose these photos because they capture moments in the summer and moments of my lfe. They show good photo composition and they show some of the good times we had this summer. I choose the 1st one because track is a very big part of my life and it capture me in action. It has good lighting and leading lines. The second picture is of my best friend, it has a nice angel and leading lines.

The third photo shows of one the Upward Bound students in class, I think that this shows the work we do in Upward Bound. It hd good lighting, leading lines, and contrast. The fourth photo has a good angel and captures the seriousness of the person. The picture tells a story, has good contrast and is an overall good picture.
In this class I have learned how t take a good photo in a new way. Ive learned that using different angels and lighting can make the picture a lot better and I learned all the good photo composition rules.

This class has taught me how to enhance my photos. Instead of the old traditional duck faces we can now make our photos more creative and take them from different angles. I've learned how to use different lighting and take advantage of the different times of day. Most importantly I have learned to be fun and weird with my pictures it makes for better photo.

The very first photo is point of view. The tunnel affect is very cool and the swirled letters make the photo better. It's makes you real focus on the eye. The second photo is me in my dream vacation, in this photo I was able to utilize the masking tool in Photoshop. The third photo is the cropping tool. The cropping too is really used for when u take a picture of someone or something and there's a lot of unnecissary things in the background, so u just crop it out. It makes the photo look way better. The fourth photo is used with the masking tool also. We put ourself in a picture with zombies  and learned how to put the picture in words.

This class was really fun this summer, I really enjoyed this class.

I find the lessons I have been taught in this class to be very useful. What we learned about in Photoshop allowed us to be more creative. You can alter you photos in many ways in this application. The zombie picture and the vacation picture are good representations of that creativity.  Learning the compositions of photography enabled us to take/edit our photos to their full potential. Knowing how to utilize light, and, and position and other things effected the quality of our pictures in a good way.
The most important thing I learned in this class is to be original and to look for things that you might not typically think of as a good picture. If you know how to apply the photography compositions and keep your eye out for a good photo opportunity your photo will probably turn out how you want. I also learned that if you break the rules in the "right way" you could produce an unexpectedly good picture.

I choose these pictures because they show what Upward Bound is, how us as the students, how we represent this program. The bottom picture of me in the soccer goal was from our first post/blog. It was my first, "Follow Rule of Thirds, and Capture the Light."

The first picture is one of our mentors calling us to attention with the famous, " UB! Gather around... come in close." This pictures shows a set attraction with the group all facing Pharamond and the balance with the black and white with Nina and Rebecca. Finally, the second photo just show the photography class. This was at a point when everyone was having photographer block and we were just hanging out. Oh and my Ghost Rider picture was just for fun because now I can go anywhere in the world with the help of Photoshop.

This as definitely one of y favorite classes, just for the simple fact that I learned you don't always need a professional camera to take amazing pictures because smartphones are just a great. And with the right lighting, angle, and the perfect rule of thirds... You have the perfect pictures.

FINAL JAYLAN

This summer I learned so many things in Digital Photography. Even through this was not my favorite class, I learned how to take better pictures. This was very helpful because now I know the tight way to take a selfie. I also learned how to maximize my phone camera which helped me with taking better pictures.
I also learned so much about Photoshop. During the school year I couldn't really get a grasp of Photoshop but, Mr.Winters broke it down and made it very understandable. I actually enjoyed this part because I got to combine different pictures and learn how to make them realistic looking. I especially enjoyed the zombie pictures. This class has thought me to keep an open mind because you can always finds something new to enjoy.

These are my favorite photos  of SEI because these were all the fun events during the summer that I really enjoyed. This class has made me look at photos in a different way also how to view them in my  own way and make something amazing out of them other than just taking any photo. My first photo is one of my favorites because it shows how meaningful a photo can be just in black in white. my other photos are things that I see in my way as something different but also in the eyes of others.  My last two photos are events that we did in Upward Bound that I really had a fun time going to but when I took these photos I seen different things in each one and I tried to capture the moment in every one of these photos to give it some life.

Shelby Donnell Final Project

I can truly say that I have learned a lot in digital photogrphy this summer. This course has helped me think outside of the box and look at other ways of taking photos besides the standard selfie. This class has helped me realize the deeper meaning of pictures, and what they are capable of doing. I learned a lot about the technical components of pictures such as balance, symmetry, rule of thirds and focal points. One cool tool that we used in this class was photoshop. I have never worked with it prior to taking this class, but I really liked all of the cool things that I learned to do with it.
I really enjoyed this class. Even though Im not that good at taking photos I still had fun. This class really kept me on my toes. I was always looking for something to catch on camera. I intend to use the knowledge that I gained in this class to continue taking photos and hopefully get better at it. I plan on snapping some good photos of me and my peers next week in South Dakota.

In the digital photography class, I have learned that phones have many more camera abilities than what I assumed.  Once one takes the time to understand their phone camera, they can do so much more and drastically improve their photography skills.  I have also learned a few of the many capabilities of photoshop.  When an original picture is low in quality, photoshop becomes very handy.  Photoshop makes photography quite fun and more interactive.  It offers countless ways to alter and improve photos.  Digital photography provided me with the opportunity to take advantage of my phone's camera and photoshop.

The photos I have chosen for my final establish that I have obtained at least minor skills in cropping, masking, and altering exposure.  The first photo, which was changed the most, shows my ability to place masks on and change the exposure and placement of a subject in order to blend it in with its new surroundings.  The second photo pertains to cropping and exposing a focal point to draw the viewer's attention.  In this particular photo, the focal point is my bulging eye.  The third photo involves exposure, while the last has the same components as the first.  All of the skills I used to alter my final photos were learned in digital photography.

This class has taught me the basics of photography. I learned the need for balance in a photo. I also learned that getting closer is better than zooming in. When you zoom in you "distort" the picture. The rule-of-thirds was familiar to me but I gained more onsite into what it meant and that it doesn't always have to be followed. Phones are capable of things i never thought they would be able to do. I also learned a lot in Photoshop.
I learned how to add a layer and how to add people into other photos. I learned hoe to change the color of certain things how to make effects only change one part of an image and much more. These photos demonstrate this. My photo of me in Paris is an example of putting things into other photos as well as a rule of thirds. the Picture from sky zone with Destiny doing a toe touch represents the rule of thirds and the rule of add better that even. The other two show rule of thirds but one shows that I learned to change the color either to black and white or even other colors.

DONNELL FINAL

These 4 photos are a representation of what I learned this summer as well as my highlights of SEI in general. During my time in the digital photography I have learned some photo techniques that will stick with me every time I snap a photo. I have learned the rule of thirds, symmetry, balance, and many other things sine we've started.
I have put the things i've learned to use in the photos above and have provided a example of each.  My first picture represents a well demonstrated use of symmetry, by using 3 different backgrounds going in different directions an effect of symmetry was achieved.  My second photo was chosen because of the emotion in it and the way it shows off the rule of thirds, this also was an experience during the summer that made me glad to be apart of Upward Bound due to the fact that I got to help others. The third photo was chosen to highlight an element of balance. By making adjustments to the toning of the picture it gives the picture a more subtle effect. Lastly, the photo at the very bottom was chosen to represent a use of lines. There are a wide array of angles from which lines are moving toward the subject making it the primary focus.

Nina's FINAL

Out of all of the pictures I took for the projects over the summer these would have to be the best. They show my growing skills in both Photoshop and just taking pictures in general. The first and second pictures are both for the action shot project. Though the water balloon picture was nice in color, there were a lot of people that were kind of irrelevant to the actual shot, which was Amber throwing the water balloon and hitting Shelby. To correct this without cropping everything out, I made everything black and white which gave a more blank background since everything was in a grey scale. Then put the focus people back in color.

The third picture is my favorite of all the pictures I've taken this summer. I'm basically standing in a puddle of water after a rainstorm and I held my hand out to get a secondary subject reflected in the water. Though my feet are stationary in the water one is pointing directly up toward the reflection and the left one is angled toward it. I chose to make the colors darker because of the shape of the hand which I wanted to be really dark to compliment the twisted grabbing shape of the hand. The darkness and shape of the hand contrasts the lightness and shape of the feet. I just really love this picture.

The last picture was really fun to do. We basically had to take an image of our dream vacation and put ourselves into the picture. I've always wanted to go to Ireland so deciding was easy. The hard part was trying to find a place where I could get both the shadow on my face and light on my legs to make it look like I was actually sitting under the rock. I sat under my bed in my dorm and my roommate took the picture for me. After resizing the picture so I was proportional I added shadow under my shoes and body to make the picture look a bit more realistic.
